Robinhood plans to offer crypto perpetual futures trading to eligible US clients with 10x leverage opportunities, among other services, as it seeks to grow its derivatives business. Robinhood Derivatives aims to offer eight digital assets on crypto perpetual futures over the next few months.

Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetuals will have a maximum leverage ratio of 10x, and Solana, Ripple, Dogecoin, Cardano, Chainlink, and Hype perpetual contracts will have a maximum leverage ratio of 3x. Unlike other futures contracts, perpetuals will not expire, and traders can hold open positions indefinitely as long as they meet margin requirements.
Robinhood will charge 0.01% per trade until the end of 2026. Clients can buy and sell positions directly within the app, view stop-loss and take-profit values, and see real-time margin call prices. Additional app features include notifications about impending margin calls. CEO Vlad Tenev said that gains and losses for these new contracts will be updated every 15 minutes.

Perpetual futures never expire, trade around the clock, and let you customize leverage up to 10:1.
With them, Robinhood is now the first major brokerage to offer all six asset classes on one platform: stocks, options, crypto, futures,…
The product is provided by Robinhood Derivatives, a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and NFA member, with Bitstamp providing contract services. In June 2025, Robinhood acquired Bitstamp in a $200 million deal. The acquisition gives Robinhood access to institutional and global cryptocurrency trading services.
Bitstamp has previously helped Robinhood grow its derivatives capabilities internationally. The exchange used to offer crypto perpetual contracts to Robinhood’s European customers, with up to 3x leverage. The new U.S. offering would allow Robinhood customers to trade Bitcoin and Ethereum contracts with higher leverage than before.

Robinhood has not set a release date for its futures offering. The announcement comes after other regulatory actions that expanded opportunities for U.S. issuers of perpetual futures products. The CFTC authorized the BTCPERP product tied to Bitcoin at KalshiEX in May and released other guidance on regulatory issues related to perpetual futures contracts.

Cryptocurrency derivatives are just one new product the trading platform Robinhood is launching. Other new products include weekend trading for some U.S. stocks and ETFs planned for early 2027, pending regulatory approval. Adding weekend trading would build on the company’s existing 24 Hour Market, which is available Sunday evening through Friday evening.
Other new features are being added earlier. Certain selected securities will begin trading at premarket and after-hours sessions from 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. ET in October. Eligible margin customers can sign up for increased intraday buying power of up to four times their usual limit.

Robinhood is expanding automated trading features in its mobile app with a feature called Robinhood Agents. Qualified users can open agent accounts to build AI agents to help with research and other trading activities. Features with manual approval required by default include the ability to set up ongoing agent services to watch the markets and make trades based on other user-defined criteria.
