We break down Coinbase’s plans in July 2026.

Coinbase is expanding its presence in North America and Asia with a platform that combines crypto, stocks, spot crypto ETFs, and prediction markets. In Canada, the company is preparing to launch its “Everything Exchange” after registering in 2024. In Singapore, it plans to grow its team from 150 to 200 employees by the end of 2026.

Coinbase Canada CEO Eric Richmond said the cryptocurrency exchange’s first phase in the country focused on crypto, but now it’s moving to phase two–building a single app for all financial needs.

In Singapore, Coinbase secured a major payment institution license from the MAS in October 2023 and is now expanding its engineering, customer service, and institutional sales teams.

‘Everything Exchange’ in Canada: From Crypto Exchange to Full-Service Finance App

The “Everything Exchange” concept offers a single platform where users can:

  • Trade crypto, stocks, and ETFs
  • Access prediction markets from a single account

In the US, this process is already underway. Coinbase opened stock and ETF trading to qualified US users in February 2026 and launched prediction markets through a Kalshi partnership in January.

In Canada, the launch date hasn’t been set, but the company is actively working with local regulators. Coinbase became the first international crypto exchange registered in Canada in April 2024.

Richmond noted that traditional banks close at 4:00 PM and transfers can take days, while blockchain technology enables 24/7, instant operations. He doesn’t see Robinhood or Canadian brokerages as serious competition, since Coinbase offers broader access to products once only available to wealthy investors.

Coinbase Expanding in Singapore: License and Headcount Growth

In Singapore, Coinbase plans to grow its team from 150 to 200 by the end of 2026. The focus is on engineering, client service, relationship management, and institutional sales. Singapore country director Hassan Ahmed called the city-state a strategic hub for crypto innovation.

Singapore tightened licensing requirements in 2025, forcing unlicensed firms to exit. The MAS register now lists 38 licensed digital payment token service providers–Coinbase is one of them.

Tokenized Stocks and Prediction Markets: What Changes for Users

In July 2026, Coinbase plans to launch tokenized stocks for users outside the US, including Canadians. These are blockchain-based shares of real companies, enabling instant settlement and 24/7 trading with full dividend rights. The feature is a key component of the “Everything Exchange.”

In Canada, the final regulatory hurdle is stablecoin rules, which the Bank of Canada expects to finalize in 2027. After that, Coinbase will be able to issue a Canadian dollar stablecoin and fully roll out the “Everything Exchange.”

Coinbase is deliberately evolving from a crypto exchange into a full-service financial platform. Expanding into Canada and Singapore with a broad product suite signals that the company sees the future in the convergence of traditional and digital assets. Tokenized stocks and prediction markets widen the audience beyond crypto enthusiasts, attracting more conservative investors.
